Ford Otosan needed a comprehensive infrastructure to use data more effectively as a strategic resource and strengthen data governance in the digital transformation process. In line with this need:
The data contained in different systems and sources had to be collected in a centralized structure.
Improving and standardizing data quality was of great importance.
Transparency and traceability had to be ensured in data management and governance processes.
It was desired to accelerate data-driven decision-making processes and develop a culture of data use across the organization.
It was aimed at the dissemination and democratization of big data analytics processes across the company.

Solution process and technologies used
In the project, several modules of Informatica were chosen to respond to the needs of Ford Otosan and effectively support data management and governance processes:
Informatica Axon: It was used to create business and data dictionaries in data governance processes, to determine organizational structure and workflows.
Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC): It was used for cataloging data sources, metadata scans, and monitoring data flows.
Informatica Data Quality (IDQ): It was used to control data quality requirements and centrally manage quality processes on data sources.

Project outcomes
Ford Otosan strengthened its leading position in data management and analytical processes in a period of rapid digital transformation. Improving data quality and effectively implementing data governance helped Ford Otosan consolidate its market leadership.
Data Governance Model: A sustainable and transparent data governance structure was created for Ford Otosan. This structure enabled the organization of data quality management, data dictionary and workflows.
Data Quality Improvement: Data quality rules were defined and implemented, and the control of quality processes in data sources was managed centrally. This significantly improved data accuracy and consistency.
Data Democratization: Big data analytics and data governance processes were rolled out across the company. Data-based decision-making processes were accelerated and data usage was supported at all levels of the organization.
Comprehensive Training and Awareness: Through technical trainings and data governance workshops organized during the project, awareness and competency levels of Ford Otosan teams on data management were increased.
This project strengthened Ford Otosan's strategy to become a data-driven organization in both cultural and technological terms, and a major step was taken in the digital transformation process.
