What is R?

R is an open source programming language used for statistical analysis. Includes a command-line interface and various graphical interfaces. Popular types of algorithms are linear and nonlinear modeling, time series analysis, classification, and clustering. According to Gartner research, more than 50% of data science teams currently use R to a certain capacity. The R language competes with commercial products such as SAS and Fuzzy Logix.
